Great gift Idea

Good Deals & Free Stuff, Tech No Comments »

If you’re a digital camera freak like myself, (I literally have over a terabyte of pics on my hard drive) there is no better gift than a Photo Book. My sister gave one to our mother for Christmas last year and it’s still regularly looked at as it sits on her coffee table. I myself have made over 10 photo books. Most are of my little girl as she grows older. It’s so much easier than digging out the shoe box with hundreds of 4×6’s. They are a great way to show off your amateur eye. Being as some people call me cheap I usually only make and order a book when I can get a great deal. Right now you can get a free photo book from albelli (expires 9/9/08), you just have to pay the shipping charges. I tried albelli but I was never to finish because of an upload error. I tried probably 10 times but I always got an error on the last 2 pictures?? You do have to install software to make your photo book from albelli but it is made from Adobe so I have no trust issues there. The application is still in “beta” and there is obviously issue’s that still need to be addressed but it’s worth a shot.

One place that I have never had any issues from is shutterfly. Their photo books have always came out great. Plus there is no extra software to install and their processing and shipping is super fast. I placed an order on Sunday August 31st and it was delivered today September 5th. In my book that is superb service considering that I ordered a 20 page photo book with 50 free 4×6’s. The best deal I can find currently on shutterfly is a 15% off coupon with free shipping on photo books. Plus new members ger 50 free 4×6’s and collage poster. Just use coupon code: AF63-AG08 during checkout. Offer expires 9/9/08

Here is a picture I took recently and adjusted in Adobe Photoshop. My current digital camera is a Sony DSC-H2 Steady Shot

Free stuff on the Web

Good Deals & Free Stuff No Comments »

It’s seems since the beginning of the internet one hot topic that has always been around is free stuff. Whether it is free money, free electronics, or even free magazine subscriptions. Probably the easiest to come by is free magazine subscriptions or heavily discounted ones. I currently have 5 different magazine subscriptions that I probably paid in total around $5 for, and each magazine subscription is anywhere from 2-4 years long, not to bad in my book. Some of my favorite freebies include free Mach 3 turbo razors, coupons for free dog & cat food, and well just about anything, we all love free stuff!

My highest valued free items (currently) are a free IPod and about $500 in cash; I’ll get into that later.
Did you know that you can right now go to Walmart.com and get free trial size samples? Now the good free stuff like Mach 3 razors and coupons for free Iams pet food is few and far between, so you have to be on top of your freebie game. Here are a couple of excellent web site dedicated to getting great deals on the internet and free stuff. First Slickdeals.net, this site is updated daily with all the latest deals that are available on the net. It has a nice easy on the eyes layout and friendly forums. Second is Spoofee.com, once again this site is updated several times daily and has a nice layout. I highly recommend bookmarking these sites and checking them daily for great deals and freebies.

The only drawback to these sites, is rebates are used for a lot of their “slickdeals”, now myself I am not a big fan on mail in rebates especially now with the internet available, why snail mail?
When there is an item I know I going to purchase in the near future I always keep my eye on these two sites to see if I can get a better deal, and most of the time I do!
