Must have application

Tech No Comments »

So I was browsing around some forums I frequent and there was another one of those “show off your desktop” posts where people take snap shots off there desktops to show off there background and what not. While checking out some cool background pics I noticed this cool app on the bottom of some people’s screen right above the task bar. After asking I came to find out it was Rocketdock. All I can say is wow what a great little application for windows users, mac users already have this built in to the OS. Rocketdock is a animated application launcher sorta like the quick launch in the task bar, but so much better. So good in fact I am about to remove the quick launch bar all together.

Here are a couple of pics I found on Google.

And best of all it’s FREE! If your a heavy computer user like myself I’m sure your going to like rocketdock after trying it.

Windows 7 coming 2009

Tech No Comments »

Wow with Vista just released in late 06, windows 7 is already planned for release in 2009. Is vista really another windows me edition? I have personally used all versions of windows and happen to like vista, so much I decided to retire windows 2000 professional. Vista has been nothing but rock solid for me and can literally goes months without a reboot or crash. Vista seemed to me to have the stability of windows 2000 professional with all the “eye candy”. The only downside in vista is the whole direct x 10 stuff where older games are not playable on it (I do miss playing the first Age of Empires occasionally). When windows 7 is released I hope they do get rid of those silly 6 editions they have Home basic, Home premium, business, ultimate, enterprise, and just go with at the most 2 different editions or back to one.

It will take a lot for me to reformat my hard drive and retire vista ultimate to install windows 7, heck I used windows 2000 professional for 6+ years because windows xp did not impress me. Having a touch screen interface (like an iPhone) will not do it.
